Small Green Shoots is a registered Charity founded in 2009. We are a small but mighty National Portfolio Organisation dedicated to increasing career opportunities for underrepresented Young Adults.
We are a UK based cultural organisation with a Black female Chair, Founder and CEO. Our leadership team is 88% black and mixed ethnicity and 100% of our young people are from low-income and/or underrepresented backgrounds.
We know all young people have untapped skills and talents, and those from lower income and diverse backgrounds face multiple barriers. We develop relationships and provide support to the creative industries, enabling them to unlock their doors.
Small Green Shoots are not about jobs we are about careers. We invest in you from the outset, offering an alternative to the conventional system for education, training, and entry into the jobs market.
We create pathways for disadvantaged young people, giving them access to the music and creative industries through our paid training programmes and secondment programmes with our industry partners.
We help you gain access to the music and creative industries through our industry relationships and secondment partnerships. We also provide you with the tools and transferable skills to sustain longevity in a thriving but increasingly competitive industry.
We believe todays youth are tomorrows leaders, but we also know what it takes to nurture, support and develop them to get there. This is why we are youth-led. Our shoots shape the organisation, develop the programmes and we give them real hands on work experience, giving them the best possible start to their future careers.
